A week or two before Halloween, the Pre-K and Preschool teachers at Nathan's school organized a field trip to the fall mecca, Gull Meadow Farms. It was a chilly but beautiful morning, and the kids had the whole place to themselves, which in and of itself is awesome, but especially when compared to the madhouse that the place turns into on the weekends. The kids ran around they playyard for awhile, then went and learned that both apples and pumpkins, no matter how big they are, float in the water, and ate donuts. They wrapped up the morning's adventures with a trip to the petting zoo. One of the awesome things about the change in my job to incorporate more on-campus responsibilities and less recruitment travel is that it meant I was able to go with Nathan on this field trip in the middle of October--there is no way that would have happened in previous years!
