This year for Halloween, Natalie had a very clear and consistent idea about what she wanted to be: a duck! Some Craigslist searching and $5 later and I had a practically brand new duck costume. Score! Nathan was a little more indecisive. He and I went to the local consignment shops to see what was on hand, and he found an awesome fireman coat and hat. Done and done!
The kids' school does a great job celebrating Halloween. They get the kiddos all dressed up in their costumes, and then the parent paparazzi show up to take pictures of all the cuteness as the kiddos parade around the church. It is a total madhouse, and so much fun! Yet another reason I am thankful to work just 2 blocks from daycare--I was able to pop over for half an hour to partake in the festivities.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is that our family goes trick-or-treating with the Lepleys. We absolutely adore all four of them, and both families' schedules are so crazy that it rarely works out for us to get together. Isn't it strange how some schedules just never seem to mesh? I can't quite figure it out. Luckily I get to see Suz at work on a regular basis or I would really be sad. Anyway, I digress. We DO manage to coordinate for Halloween and trick-or-treating! :) This year we had pizza over at Suz and Bry's house. Ellie charmed the young ones (as always) by reading them a book. She was even sweet enough to pose for a photo with them before heading out to trick-or-treat with her friends. The grown-ups headed out with Nathan, Gavin, and Natalie, who all had a ball getting candy this year. So much fun!
