This weekend Todd, Nathan and I hopped in the car for another fun summer road trip. This time our destination was Naperville, IL and the home of our friends Lindsey and Mike and their kids Austin (5) and Addison (soon to be 3). Annalee, Dan and Miles (9 1/2 months) came too! This represented a 3/4 senior year reunion--Annalee, Linds, Gillian and I all lived in a little blue house near campus. Gillian, you were greatly missed!!!
Annalee, Lindsey and I left the husbands and kids at home for a few hours on Saturday afternoon, and went to the very cute downtown Naperville area for a foray into the many boutiques that line the streets (did you know that there are stores entirely devoted to olive oil and balsamic vinegar???). It was SO nice to have a little girl time!
We returned to the Wades' home and joined the fun going on in the backyard, and marveled at how dirty the kiddos got while playing in the back yard. Wow, they had a blast playing in the sandbox, on the swingset and in the dirt! After a round of baths, a delicious summer meal of burgers and veggies, we put the babies to bed (this went very smoothly, which was a surprise to all of us) and then we relaxed and spent several hours getting caught up. What a great weekend!!

Austin asked me to read a bedtime story. I was happy to oblige (I love reading kids' books aloud) but man, he must have picked the longest book in his extensive library!!
This morning I decided to try and get a group shot of all the kids. I know, I know, a tall order indeed!
Here is the best of the bunch--they are all looking in the general direction of the camera, and nobody is crying!
Austin and Addison are still cooperating, but Miles is getting a little restless, and Nathan has decided that posing for photos is not nearly as interesting as playing with a new toy.
