Wild Turkey Distillery

Our second stop of the day was at the Wild Turkey Distillery. Todd was super excited about this one, as was Stuart. They only very recently added a tasting session to the distillery tour, which Stuart considered to be a personal birthday gift from Wild Turkey. This was definitely the least showy of the three places we visited. They were all about the bourbon, and the fact that tourists came through was welcomed but not the main focus. In fact the gift shop/tasting room was quite a cramped space. However, our tour guide was great--really funny, and again clearly used to having really large tour groups. The grounds were not at all manicured, but there was something very appealing about them--the place just seemed very down to earth and focused on making bourbon. It's another place with a lot of history--founded in 1855.

Follow the turkey tracks!

The big red silos hold the corn and grain before it is ground.

More pictures of the barrels aging in the warehouse.

Stuart loves whiskey.

Tasting time!

Apparently Wild Turkey causes Stu and Todd to make the same face! :)

Stuart and Erin got matching sweatshirts and swore never to wear them at the same time. I, however, thought there was no way to pass up the opportunity for them to be photographed in their matching sweatshirts with the wild turkey himself!
