Labor Day Weekend at the Cottage

As is our annual tradition, we spent Labor Day weekend at the cottage in Northport. In my visions of this weekend, we were having one last hurrah on the boat and one last swim in the bay for the year. The weather gods had other ideas, however, and it was rainy and chilly for much of the weekend. This gave us plenty of time to just relax, which was a welcome change of pace from our usual hectic schedule. Dan, Annalee and Miles joined us on Saturday afternoon for the weekend's fun, although for some reason they decided to procure lodging at The Homewood Cottages instead of sleeping up in the loft with Dan, Nancy, Jess, Todd, Nathan, Zeke and Deuce. I have no idea why... :)

Grandma introduced Nathan to the time-honored pastime of throwing rocks and sticks into the creek. He loved it!

Look at my two favorite guys in their matching clothes--I love it!

We kicked off the weekend with a walk over to Timber Shores on Saturday morning.

Doggy friends.

It is rare to see whitecaps on the little inlet at Timber Shores. It was a blustery day!

"Dada, CREEK!"

Family dinner--ribs, "popcorn" (according to Nathan, this is what corn on the cob should be called), coleslaw and potato salad.

I love Nathan and he loves me.

Great Grandpa Basil is so silly!

Annalee and a post-nap Miles... he had a delightful outdoor snooze in his stroller.

Oh, I just love these two boys!
