Memorial Day Weekend at the Cottage

As is our annual tradition, we headed up to Northport for the long Memorial Day weekend.  It was our first time staying at the cottage with Natalie, which meant it was our first time sharing a room with both kids.  This went better than expected!  We put Natalie to sleep first, and then let Nathan stay up late so that he was too tired to go through his usual evening ritual of singing, talking and reading to himself. With the exception of a rainy Sunday morning, the weather cooperated beautifully for the weekend--not too hot and not too cold.  We had a great time relaxing with family and friends.

In a move that was completely unexpected, I forgot my camera!!!  It was an odd sensation to be without my trusty memory-capturing accessory.  Luckily, Nancy brought her camera, and I commandeered it for part of the weekend.  I didn't capture our adventures in the village--donut breakfast at Barb's Bakery, Cars In The Park, wading in the bay, but know that it was wonderful, and that I still manage to take a ton of pictures--enough for two very picture-heavy posts!! :)

Nathan in a rare cuddly mood.  Grandma Nancy was the lucky recipient of his snuggles!

Somebody's gotta do some work around here...  Stu was the yard guy extraordinnaire this weekend!  He was on a solo trip, as Erin was at a bachelorette party for a childhood friend.  We missed you, Erin!!

The Appledorns came up as well, and of course I had to take some photos of Brynn and Natalie together.  Such cutie pies!!

Relaxing on the deck.

Miles and Nathan were partners in crime, and in constant motion.  A favorite game this trip was driving cars along the deck rail, chucking said cars off of the deck, and then running to get them.

Annalee decided that the kid-sized Adirondack chair fit just right! :)
