Kentucky Weekend 2012

I'm pretty sure that I'm the luckiest girl in the world.  Not only do I have an amazing husband, two awesome kids, and a wonderful family, but I have an incredible group of female friends.  There are eleven of us who all attended college together and we still keep in touch.  Last year we started an annual tradition of gathering in Kentucky during MLK weekend.  There is very little on the agenda.  The only must-do is to talk, and talk we do!  I never cease to be amazed by the wisdom, knowledge, perspective and laughter that I get from these brilliant women.  Some of us are married, some are single, some have kids, some don't, some work full-time outside of the home, some work full-time in the home.  It's a good mix.  And we all respect each other.  And I get to room with my college roomie again.  And there's a spa, and a hot tub, and lots of wine, and great places to walk and run.  It's heaven.  I leave this weekend feeling relaxed, fulfilled, inspired, and a little depressed that we don't all live together on a commune somewhere.  Have I mentioned that I'm lucky?

This is what most of the weekend looks like--relaxing in the living room and talking.

Our rule is that babies who aren't yet mobile are invited to join in the fun.  This year sweet little Brynn joined us--she is such a sweet, mellow baby!

Family photo from the 2012 trip.   It's pretty amazing that 9 of the 11 were able to make it this year!
