Preschool Celebration 2013

One of the many awesome things about Nathan moving to the preschool/pre-K rooms at his daycare is that the teachers organize a year-end celebration every May.  The kids work hard to learn three songs, the teachers interview each student, and there is a modest "graduation" recognition for the kids who will be going to kindergarten the following year.  It is pretty much an explosion of energy and cuteness!  The kids all run around like total maniacs before and after the show, and the parents and grandparents corral the younger siblings and enjoy chatting with each other during a time that is not the hectic drop-off/pick-up settings.  My parents drove down from GR to cheer on Nathan.  He was pretty excited about the celebration, and about keeping the songs a secret from us until the big performance! :)

It totally melts my heart when they hold hands with each other.

Natalie and Todd waiting for the show to begin. Note the blurs in the background that would be Nathan and one of his friends sprinting around the gym--getting those pre-show jitters out??

Natalie was super excited that her good buddy Maya was there to watch her older sister.

The whole gang lined up and singing the first song.

This year the interview question for each kid was, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"  Nathan wants "to be a race car driver so I can drive fast and all my friends can watch me driving."  Sounds about right. :)

The pre-K class of 2013. :)  I'm going to miss these kiddos next year!

Cutie pie, contemplating the performance.

Singing and acting out "Pete the Cat"

Highlight of the show for the kids? Why, the post-performance cupcakes and cookies of course!
