Todd's Birthday Celebration

I'm a little behind on my blog posts--sorry for the delay, folks, I know you've all been waiting with bated breath! :)

Saturday, May 7th we had Dan, Nancy, Florence and Basil over to celebrate Todd's birthday and an early Mother's day. I worked that morning, and it was delightful to come home to a house full of family who were already taking care of all the food prep! It was great to catch up with Florence and Basil about how they are settling into their new house in Northport, Todd liked his birthday presents, Nathan loved having so many grandparents and great-grandparents around, and everyone enjoyed the food--all in all it was a lovely gathering!

The beautiful strawberry shortcake birthday cake that Nancy made for Todd. It was just as delicious as it looks! MMMMMMM

The whole gang, digging into steak, asparagus and cheesy potatoes.

Nathan sang Happy Birthday to Todd all by himself! Then everyone joined in for a second chorus. :)

Make a wish!

YAY!!!! :)

Trying Superman ice cream for the first time, using the unconventional fork method.

The fork did not pass inspection, so he switched to the more reliable "stuff it in your mouth with both hands" technique.

This technique proved to be effective, but sticky.
