On Friday Stuart and Erin arrived in town after spending Thanksgiving with the Trussells in Detroit. We had leftover turkey for dinner and then headed downtown to Bronson Park for the tree lighting ceremony. It was a cold, but beautiful night, and there were a lot of people and families there celebrating. The evening started with a band comprised of middle schoolers in santa hats playing Christmas carols. Nathan loved it! "Look! Playtars!" In case you aren't fluent in Nathan, he calls guitars playtars. After the band finished up, the mayor and city commissioners led a group reading of "T'was the Night Before Christmas." Then, with a countdown from ten, the whole park was filled with Christmas lights! I knew what was coming, and it was still dazzling. Nathan had no idea what was going on, and he was totally blown away! He loved it!! Now driving to and from daycare every day he is really into pointing out all the Christmas lights on the houses. I guess that's a positive of it being dark on each leg of our commute...
All bundled up!
