Visit from Jordan and summer bounty

Jordan is on summer break from school, and is spending a few weeks in Michigan. Although most of the time he'll be up in Northport, he was in Kalamazoo for a few days. He came over in the evening for a few days last week and he and Nathan had fun playing together. I think J was surprised by how much Nathan is talking now, and thought his personality was pretty funny. On Friday evening, we went over to Dan and Nancy's house, and Jordan cooked up a delicious dinner to celebrate Father's Day.

This summer Suzanne and I are splitting a farm share, which means every Thursday this summer I get a bag full of whatever produce is in season. My first share was FULL of strawberries!! So in addition to eating them just as they are, I made a strawberry pie. Yum!

The flowers I planted in my deck boxes are finally blooming; I think this is the best flower combo yet for these boxes.

The hydrangea bush that mom gave me for my first mother's day is also in bloom right now. I love summer!
