Dudes' Day

Todd didn't have work on Friday, so he and Nathan spent the day together. A full day of Dudes' time!! They played at home in the morning, including hanging out with Ozzie for awhile. Then in the afternoon they took advantage of the gorgeous 55 degree sunshine and went over to Grandma Nancy's house for a walk around the neighborhood with the dogs.

Quality time with Ozzie!

Thursdays with Grandma

Every Thursday Grandma Nancy picks Nathan up from daycare around 3:45, and they spend the rest of the afternoon together. They both have a grand time! :) This week Uncle Jordan was able to join in on the fun, and Nathan explored the newly acquired swing that now lives at Grandma's house. She sent me these cute pictures, and I just had to share!

Today's activities

I got to work from home today reading applications, and Nathan stayed home with me. We had such a nice day! He was awake and smiley for a good portion of it, and either hung out in my lap, on the floor or in his swing while I read applications. He'd take a break from his playtime to snooze in the Moby wrap or eat. What a sweetie! I wish I could have his company every day while I'm working.

When Todd got home, it was bath time! Nathan really loves hanging out with us in the big tub and floating around--so do we!

A big smile for Mommy!

Already a book worm!

Hanging out in the swing--he's not a huge fan of it, but likes it for short periods of time.

Sitting up like a big boy in his Bumbo seat!

Nathan loves the fact that we have a swimming pool in the house!

Weekend Wrap-up

We had a really nice weekend! On Friday evening, Hillary and I went shopping and out to dinner to celebrate her birthday. It was the first time I'd been to the mall on a Friday night since middle school, and I think we were the only ones there who were over the age of 14! :) We both found some good bargains on cute pants, and then enjoyed a tasty dinner at McGinnis. While I was out on the town, Todd and Nathan hung out at the house with Joey.

Saturday we took advantage of the gorgeous sunshine and went for a walk on the new part of the Kal-Haven trail. It felt really good to stretch our legs, and Deuce enjoyed some much-needed exercise. Nathan slept the entire time! Earlier that day Todd, Nathan and I enjoyed a bath in our big bathtub. Nathan loved it--Todd supported him and Nathan just floated in the water, kicking his legs a little bit and thoroughly enjoying himself.

Saturday evening Suzanne and Bryan had us over for dinner. We had a Swiss fondue-type meal called raclette. It's kind of hard to describe, but it involves cheese, veggies, sausage and bread--delicious, and one of those fun interactive meals that are great to have with friends. Ellie was having a slumber party at Nana's house, so Gavin and Nathan spent some time checking each other out. Gavin is such a cutie!! It is amazing to look at him and think about how big Nathan is going to be a year from now.

Today was a great day with the grandparents! My mom and dad came down in the afternoon. Luckily Nathan was awake and happy, and performed all of his tricks (smiles and coos) for them. They spent some time with Nathan while Todd and I ran a few errands. This evening Dan and Jordan brought pizza over and relaxed on the couch for awhile.

All in all it was a great weekend; I'm sad to see it end!

Monkey Business

Well, Nathan is officially in the double digits; he is 10 weeks old today! I decided to use some of my last morning of maternity leave (I go back full-time starting tomorrow) to do a long-planned photo shoot of Nathan with all of his monkey friends. Todd has a well-loved monkey from childhood named Chelsea that has been passed on to Nathan, Curious George was a shower gift from Veronica, the big snuggly monkey is from Aunt Gillian, and Aunt Hillary made him a sock monkey! The fact that Nathan also has a monkey-themed outfit made the photo shoot a no-brainer. :) The timing of my project was a little off, as I didn't get myself organized until right before naptime, so instead of smiley, happy Nathan, you get tired and not sure about Mommy's monkey project Nathan! Right after this, he let me know that I'd pushed it too far, and had to be cuddled to sleep, which he's doing right now in the Baby Bjorn while I type this.

Bumbo seat

Nathan has gotten so much stronger lately--especially in keeping his head up (although he still randomly forgets that he has to hold it up, so he's still a bit floppy). While Suz and I were enjoying a beautiful snowshoeing expedition, Todd and Nathan had fun trying out the Bumbo seat. Nathan's still to little and floppy to sit in it for very long, but he really liked being able to sit up and look around.

Family Dinner

Stuart and Erin came into town this weekend, and Nancy and Dan cooked up some delicious fish tacos for dinner. Unfortunately, Jordan had to work, but the rest of us enjoyed a relaxing evening of good food and good company. Nathan was actually awake for most of the time we were there, which is unusual--he seems to always be sleeping when he hangs out with Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Dan! So everyone had fun with how smiley he is now. :)
