Memorial Day Weekend Part 2

Before Jordan, Stuart and Erin hit the road on Monday morning so J could catch an early flight back to Denver, I did my usual gathering of the family for a group photo.  It's a pretty good looking crew if I do say so myself!

Before the rest of us left town, we stopped at a local goat farm to check out the baby kids. So cute!

And then, one last stop at Christmas Cove to say hello to Lake Michigan and collect some cool rocks.

Memorial Day Weekend Part 1

As per family tradition, we headed up to the cottage for Memorial Day weekend.  Todd, the kids and I arrived in the early evening on Friday.  The whole weekend was sunny but chilly, so we decided to get the weekend started with a fire in the fireplace.  The kids loved it!

The next day we headed to Northport for the annual Cars in the Park car show.  Natalie and Nathan had to try out Grandpa Basil's 1923 Buick.  I'm glad we got a few photos, as Grandpa sold this car a few weeks later.

Hmmm... so many cars, so little time!

Guess who we ran into at the car show?  Ryan and George!

Even though it was chilly, the kids still managed to get some playtime in at the beach.

Saturday evening it was time for a bonfire, and Nathan's first time playing with sparklers!  He was too nervous last Fourth of July, but this year he loved them.

We wrapped up the evening with bathtime in the new kitchen sink.  It is Natalie- and Nathan-approved!

Fun at the Children's Museum

There are so many great things about the fact that I work with two of my closest friends. One of the challenges is that most of our time together is at work!  In May, Hillary and I were able to coordinate the same vacation day in order to spend some fun time together with our kiddos.  We were originally planning to go to the zoo, but a chilly, rainy day caused us to change our plans and head to the Grand Rapids Children's Museum.  There were several schools that had field trips there that day, and the place was PACKED!  I was completely overstimulated, but the kids loved it! :)

With all the craziness and kids into different stuff, Hill and I did not get much time to chat at the museum.  Luckily we headed back to her new (beautiful!) house for lunch, naps for the little ones, and some much-needed non-work conversation for Hillary and I.  When Graham and Natalie woke up from their naps we tried to get a group photo of the three kids.  Yeah... that didn't work out so well!  They are still cute anyway!
